Utah team president Chris Armstrong spoke, followed by general manager Bill Armstrong, head coach Andre Tourigny, forwards Lawson Crouse, Nick Schmaltz, Logan Cooley, Clayton Keller and defensemen Sean Durzi.
- Chris Armstrong stated “It’s been very clear to us what our fans would like us to be called.” So, the Yeti name was not yet announced, but it feels like a matter of time. This statement follows Clayton Keller telling NHL.com he believed the name would be Yeti. And those with good memories over this long summer may recall Bill Armstrong made a bit of a tongue-in-cheek comment about Tij Iginla being a “Utah Yeti” after drafting him in June. And thus, the Yeti Almanac has been was born.

Subscribers will also receive tickets and a one-time team store discount. Season ticket holders for both teams will receive a complimentary subscription as well as an option to buy the other sport subscription at a 50% discount. However, streaming is not the only option to catch games, as broadcasts will be available on over the air television in Utah on channel 16 and broadcast on radio by KSL Sports.
- Training camp opens at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns with 64 players being invited to camp. The Olympic Oval has undergone a Herculean overhaul this summer to provide a temporary practice space for the Utah Hockey Club for its first season. Included in the refurbishment is NHL size ice dimensions and a comfy locker room for the team.
- The preseason has arrived. The Utah Hockey Club will board a plane and travel to take on the Vegas Golden Knights, the Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, and Anaheim Ducks before the season officially begins.
- The first pre-season game will be played on Sunday September 22 in Des Moines, Iowa against the St Lous Blues.
- On Monday September 23 the Delta Center will roll up the basketball floor and unveil the ice for Utah Hockey Club’s first ever game in Salt Lake City against the Los Angeles Kings.
- We wait eagerly for October 8 and the arrival of the season and the Chicago Blackhawks. At media day, Chris Armstrong stated despite the weather outside, it will likely be snowing inside of the Delta Center that day, so prepare yourselves.
- Let’s go Utah!
